Mill River Lane is a print from my original painting. This is of one of the many beautiful quiet paths in Mill River, Prince Edward Island. I recently did a poll of the most popular season and most people voted for the fall. I think it is the peacefulness that comes with fall and the beauty in the changing of the colours to the deep reds, oranges and yellows. What is your favourite season?
In the Studio
I am actually away from my studio. I left two unfinished paintings on the easel and left for Alberta to see my latest new granddaughter. There is nothing like grandchildren to hold and spoil. To see more of my paintings, drop over to my website.
Most Recent Work This is one of the paintings in progress on my easel. Looking to finish it when I return to my studio. Lots more work to do. I have also added the reference photo.
Tips for the Artist in You
Experiment: Try different styles, mediums, surfaces and subjects until you find what works best for you. Once you find it, you'll enjoy the process of making art more, which will be reflected in your work. I have tried different mediums and always go back to oils. A medium I started with and one I enjoy. It is not to say that I will not continue to try different mediums, as I will.
