"Bales by the Bridge" – an original 12x12 oil painting that captures the iconic round bales dotting the farm fields, overlooking the majestic Confederation Bridge. As a devoted PEI Artist, I find inspiration in the beauty of our island's farm landscapes and shores.

Trying Something New with Prismacolor Pencils
I'm thrilled to share some exciting news from my art studio!I've decided to try a new medium - Prismacolor pencils. This will be completely different from the oil paints that I use so will take some getting use to and some trial and errors (lots of those).
Using Prismacolor pencils will allow the flexibility that I need for my upcoming road trip across Canada this spring. Yes, I'm going across Canada again, this time we have added one more sister to come along with us. With its portable nature and versatility, this medium will enable me to capture the beauty of the landscapes and flowers of our journey.
Stay tuned for sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my Prismacolor experiments, as well as updates on my road trip adventures. Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey!

"Shifting Sands"
I'm delighted to share my latest painting with you, inspired by the tranquil shores of Prince Edward Island. This 11x14 oil painting captures the calm essence of a sandy beach against a backdrop of moody drifting clouds.
I wanted to convey the peaceful atmosphere that surrounds you when you stand on PEI's shores, listening to the gentle lapping of waves and feeling the soft sand beneath your feet.
I hope this painting brings a sense of calmness to your day and brings fond memories of moments spent on a PEI beach.
I'm excited to share a glimpse into my latest project with you.Inspired by the serene beauty of a sunset, I'm currently working on a painting featuring a lighthouse against a backdrop of warm orange hues.
This piece is an expansion of a miniature painting I previously created. After my younger daughter claimed the original for her new home, I felt inspired to recreate the scene on a larger canvas, capturing the full beauty of the landscape in an 11x14 format.
I'm enjoying the process of bringing this tranquil scene to life with rich colors and intricate details.
Tips for the Artist in You
I wanted to take a moment to encourage each of you to explore something new. As artists, it's easy to become comfortable with familiar mediums and techniques, but venturing into uncharted territory can lead to incredible growth and discovery.
I've recently challenged myself to try a different medium, and I'm looking forward to see where it takes me.By stepping outside of my comfort zone, I hope to gain a fresh perspective and uncover new possibilities for creative expression.
Challenge your creativity, and see where it takes you. You may be surprised by what you discover along the way.
